Importing Data Into Your Database → Importing Data from a Serena Tracker Project → Mapping Tracker Source Fields to SBM Fields
The Map External Source Fields to Destination Fields dialog box is provided for mapping fields from the Tracker database you are importing from to fields in SBM. You can also specify constant values for destination fields and map user-type and selection field values as needed.
The following sections contain information about Tracker-to-SBM field mapping:
The following information and options on the Map External Source Fields to Destination Fields dialog box apply to imports from Tracker databases:
Unmap All Fields - Click this button to unmap all source fields and Tracker fields.
Source Field – This left-pane list contains fields from the source Tracker project. When a source field is mapped, it is marked with a plus (+) sign.
Destination Field – The right pane contains a list of all SBM fields available for mapping in the destination table selected on the Specify Data Destination dialog box. If you specified a converted solution on the Connect to Serena Tracker Source dialog box, Tracker fields are mapped to SBM fields based on the solution map. The right column of the right pane displays the mapping status for each destination field as follows:
Empty – If the right pane is empty next to a destination field, this field has not been mapped and a constant value has not been provided for the field.
Field Name – When a source field is mapped to a destination field, the source field name is listed in the right column of the right pane.
Set to – When a constant value is set for the destination field, [Set to: VALUE] appears in the right column of the right pane.
Map – To map fields, select a source field and a destination field, and then click Map. All destination fields that begin with an asterisk (*) must be mapped to a source field or you must specify a "constant" value that is set for all imported records. For details on providing constant values, refer to Specifying Constant Field Values for Import. For details on mapping State field values, refer to Mapping State Field Values.
Unmap - To unmap fields, select a mapped field in the right pane, and then click Unmap.
Options – This button enables you to set mapping options for the selected destination fields based on the following criteria:
Unmapped Fields – Click Options to open the Options: Set Field to Value During Import dialog box and specify a constant value to populate the selected destination field for all items after import. If you want to set a constant value for a mapped field, unmap the field, and then click Options. For details, refer to Specifying Constant Field Values for Import.
Mapped User and Selection Fields – Click Options to open the Options: How to Map Field Values dialog box and map values for User, Multi-User, Single Selection, or Multi-Selection fields. For details, refer to Mapping Field Values for Selection and User Fields.
Mapped State Field – Click Options to open the Options: How to Map State Values dialog box. For details, refer to Mapping State Field Values.
After mapping source fields to destination fields, specifying constant values for destination fields, and mapping user and selection field values as needed, click Next to continue.
