Demand Manager → Serena Demand Manager → Welcome to Serena Demand Manager → Serena Development Manager Integration
Demand Manager can be easily integrated with Serena Development Manager if both solutions are installed.
For best results, use Dev Change Requests and the Dev Tasks as work item process apps. These process apps contain the Demand and Time Capture widgets, along with rules that display the widgets to users who have privileges to use Demand Manager.
Development Manager users can then associate their change requests and tasks, which are work items, to demand items, such as those in the Business Requests process app. Users can also record the amount of time spent on each work item. This information is used to calculate "actuals" in Demand Center.
Demand Manager's project linking feature also enables you to create new projects in either Development Manager process app or link existing projects to plans.
To prepare the Dev Change Requests process app for Demand Manager, review and follow the steps in Preparing Custom Demand Item Applications as needed. For example, you may want to add the Pause Status field to your application in SBM Composer, configure "split" capabilities, enable Time Capture options, and create reports that can be used in demand views.
To prepare the Dev Tasks process app for Demand Manager, review and follow the steps in Preparing Work Item Process Apps. You may want to enable Time Capture options, for example.
