About Dimensions CM Requests and Deployment Units

Requests

This option is used only with the Dimensions CM default plugin. This enables you to associate Dimensions CM requests with Release Control requests for informational purposes; they cannot be promoted, demoted, or deployed. If you want these options, you should use the Dimensions CM Request plugin. See Deployment Units.

To use the Dimensions CM default plugin request provider, in a release package in the Requests tab, do the following:

1. Click Edit Requests.
2. Click the + icon to add a task.
3. Select the Dimensions CM request provider name.
4. In the resulting form, enter the title and select an action.

After you select an action, additional fields appear.

Deployment Units

This option is used with both Dimensions CM plugins.

• Baselines are added as deployment units for the Dimensions CM default plugin. This enables you to associate baselines with deployment units so they can be promoted, demoted, and deployed through deployment tasks.
• Requests are added as deployment units when using the Dimensions CM Request plugin. This enables you to associate requests with deployment units so they can be promoted, demoted, and deployed through deployment tasks.

To use the Dimensions CM deployment unit provider, in a release package in the Deployment Units tab, do the following:

1. Click Edit Deployment Units.
2. Click the + icon to add a deployment unit.
3. Select the Dimensions CM deployment unit provider name.
4. In the resulting form, enter the title and select an action.

After you select an action, additional fields appear.
