The Business Requests process app is provided as a simple demand item application that you can use to quickly populate demand views in Demand Center.
You are not required to use the Business Requests process app with Demand Manager, but it provides a quick way to begin working with the product.
The Business Requests process app includes all of the design elements used to enhance your experience with Demand Manager and Demand Center. These elements include:
In addition, two demand views are preconfigured for Demand Center: "Business Requests" in the Business category and "Product Themes" in the Development category. These demand views are immediately available to administrators, but can be shared with users. By default, the demand views are populated with items that are submitted into the Business Requests application.
For setup details, refer to Preparing the Business Requests App.
Work Areas: SBM User Workspace and Demand Center
Requests are submitted into the Business Requests application in the SBM User Workspace. From here, they enter the definition phase. During this phase, product owners send the business requests to analysis in Demand Center. The requests are paused so that action cannot be taken on them in the SBM User Workspace.
During analysis, product managers and business analysts provide scoring and estimate information that can be viewed by stakeholders and other users from the request in the SBM User Workspace or on the Analyzing tab in Demand Center.
Business requests can also be assigned to plans in this phase so that analysis can continue and resources can be allocated to each request. Once planning is complete for each request and plans are approved, the requests automatically move to the execution phase.
Work Area: SBM User Workspace
During the execution phase, each business request is assigned to a product owner and work is completed.
Once work is complete on the item, it is enters the deployment phase, where it is assigned to a release manager.
During both phases, the amount of time spent can be recorded on the Time Capture tab. This adds the time spent on the request to the "actuals" columns in Demand Center.
Once items are released, the requests are closed and the plan can be completed in Demand Center.
