The following sections provide guidance on preparing your system for
Demand Manager.
These steps assume that you are familiar with basic administrative steps, such
as modifying process apps in
SBM Composer
and deploying them, as well as performing tasks in
SBM Application Administrator.
The information also assumes that you have administrative privileges required
to perform these tasks.
Configuration steps include:
- Determine which applications will be used for demand views. (These
are referred to as "demand item applications" in this document.)
- Follow these steps to prepare each of your demand item applications:
- Recommended Demand Item Process Setup
- Add the Demand Widget to Custom State Forms
- Add the Pause Status Field
- Configure Demand Item "Split" Capabilities
- Preparing Listing Reports for Demand Views
Note: The Change Management application included with
Serena Service Manager
is configured as a demand item application. If you have purchased
Serena Service Manager,
you can use this application with
Demand Manager.

- Assign users to roles in the Demand Plan process app. For details,

- Create resources, resource teams, job functions, and skills. For

- Verify that
Demand Center
users and administrators have appropriate privileges. For details, refer to

- Subscribe users to notifications in the Demand Plan application. For
details, refer to
Subscribing Users to Notifications.
- Follow these steps to configure
Demand Center:
- Create Demand Categories
- Create Plan Portfolios
- Sharing the Default Backlog Plan with Users
- Define a Scoring Matrix
- Customize the
Demand Center
Shell
- Optionally, refer to

and perform common customizations as needed.
- Optionally, add Demand Plan reports to
Serena Request Center.
