Specifying Affected Primary Items

If you selected a primary item type to archive, restore, or purge, the Select the Affected Items dialog box opens. The Select the Affected Items dialog box allows you to specify which primary items contained in a project or projects are affected by the archive action.

To specify affected primary items:

  1. From the Project list, select the project from the project hierarchy for archival action. The project hierarchy presented is associated with the primary item type selected in the Select Item Type dialog box.
Note: If the primary table associated with the items being archived contains deleted projects with stored archived items, select Nonexistent Projects to delete these stored items. Note that selecting this options deletes all stored archived items in the primary table that are not associated with a project.
  2. To include items contained in sub-projects for the archival action, select the Include sub-projects check box.
  3. The State-Workflow drop-down list contains a list of states used in the primary table and the workflow in which the states were defined. Select the state from the drop-down list that the primary items you want to archive reside in. To archive all inactive items in a project, select <NA>.
  4. From the Last Modified Date section, select a date range to determine which inactive primary items the archival action should be applied towards. For example, providing a date range allows you to archive, restore, or delete old inactive items that have been in the database for awhile, without archiving or deleting items recently moved to an inactive status.
  5. From the Item Type list, select a type of item on which to perform the archival action, if applicable. For example, if you are archiving issues, you may want to archive only bug reports or enhancement requests. If you select <NA>, no item type criteria is applied and the archive action applies to all item types.
  6. Click Next, and then click Finish to archive, restore, or purge primary items from the selected project or projects in the database.
