Working with Items → Working with Item Actions → Adding Item Notifications to Items
The Add/Modify Item Notifications dialog box provides a way to subscribe to e-mail notifications pertaining to a specific primary or auxiliary item. The list of notifications available to you in the Add/Modify Item Notifications dialog box is determined by your administrator. If you are already subscribed to a particular notification in your user profile, the notification is not available to select here.
When you subscribe to an item notification, the notification appears under My Notifications in the Item Notifications section of the item. You can only view your item notifications, however, and not those of other users.
The Notification History in the Item Notifications section displays detailed information about notifications that have been processed for the item, including the date and time, recipient information, and the status of the notification.
To add an item notification:

Notification | Select the notification that you want to receive about the item. |
Delete Notification When Item Becomes Inactive | Select this check box to delete the notification when the
item becomes inactive in the system.
CAUTION: When an inactive item becomes active
again, its notifications are not restored. To reactivate item notifications,
you must add them again.

On success, automatically close this window | Select this check box to automatically close the Add/Modify Item Notification dialog box after adding the item notification. |
Add Item Notification | Click this button to add the item notification. |
