Steps for Importing Data From a Generic ODBC Database

To import data from a generic ODBC database into an SBM database:

  1. Launch the Import Data Wizard. For details, refer to Using the Import Data Wizard.
  2. Create, modify, or execute an Import Option Set. For details, refer to Working With Import Option Sets.
  3. Select a generic ODBC database as your import source. For details, refer to Selecting the Import Data Source.
  4. Connect to the generic ODBC database you want to import data from. For details, refer to Connecting to the Generic ODBC Import Data Source.
  5. Specify which data you want to import. For details, refer to Specifying a Generic Data Source Import Table.
  6. Specify a destination table and project, if applicable, to import data to. For details, refer to Specifying a Destination for Data.
  7. Map fields in the source database to destination fields or specify constant values for data in imported fields. For details, refer to:
  8. Specify whether previously imported data should be overwritten or left unmodified. For details, refer to Specifying Additional Options for Generic Data Imports.
  9. Save your Import Option Set. For details, refer to Saving Your Import Option Set.
