The Source for the Import dialog box opens after you select
the Create a new Import Option Set option on the Import
Option Sets dialog box.
Select one of the following options:
-
Import From Generic Database That Supports ODBC – Import
data from any DBMS that supports ODBC, such as Microsoft Access or
Microsoft SQL Server. TeamTrack
databases from versions earlier than 5.8 are considered generic
databases. For details, refer to Importing Data From A Generic ODBC Database.
-
Import From Another Serena® Business
Manager
Database – Import data from another SBM or TeamTrack database, version 5.8 and
later. For details, refer to Importing Data From Another
SBM
Database.
Note: To import data from a
TeamTrack database earlier than version 5.8, you can either use
the Generic ODBC Database option or upgrade the database to
SBM
10.1,
and then perform the import.
-
Import From a Serena Tracker Project Database – Import
data from a Serena Tracker project database from Tracker version
7.5 and later. This option is enabled if the Serena Tracker
Administrator is installed on the machine from which are you
running the
SBM System Administrator. In
addition, you must be able to perform Tracker server
administration to import data from a Tracker project. For details,
refer to
Importing Data from a Serena Tracker Project.
Tip: If you intend to administer SBM
from a machine other than the machine on which the Tracker
Administrator is installed, install the SBM System Administrator on
the Tracker machine and ensure you can connect to the SBM
database via an ODBC connection. You can then run the Import
Data Wizard and later uninstall the SBM System Administrator.
