Introduction to Using LDAP With SBM

The following features are available in SBM System Administrator:

• Auto Add User

  SBM can automatically create users that successfully authenticate against your LDAP store. New groups can also be created automatically for these users. For details, refer to Automatically Adding Users from LDAP and Creating Groups for Users Automatically Added from LDAP.

• LDAP User Import

  You can manually import user accounts from LDAP into SBM. You can use search filters to specify the users you want to import, and then import those users as "copies" of an existing SBM user. You can choose to create Contact records for imported users as well. For details, refer to Mapping LDAP and SBM User Information.

• Update SBM User Account Information

  You can update mapped LDAP attributes for all SBM users at once. You can also limit the number of users you update by product-access type, account status, or by using a search filter to select a set of users and/or contacts to update. For details, refer to Updating Users and Contacts Via LDAP.

• Import LDAP Users as SBM Contacts

  You can import LDAP users as contacts by mapping LDAP user attributes to Contacts table fields, and then importing selected LDAP users. For details, refer to Mapping LDAP Users and SBM Contacts and Importing Contact Records From LDAP to SBM.

• Update SBM User and Contact Records

  You can update mapped LDAP attributes for all SBM users or contacts at once. You can also limit the number of users or contacts you update by using a search filter to select a set of users or contacts to update. You can also mark users for deletion on the next update.
