Promoting ChangeMan ZMF Change Packages

After the ChangeMan ZMF Execution Provider configuration has been added or updated as needed, users, such as Release Managers, can promote ChangeMan ZMF change packages through deployment tasks.

Only FULL type is available.

The fields that are displayed when configuring the deployment tasks to promote change packages are described in the following table.

Title A descriptive name of the deployment task Promote from Dev to Test
Description A longer description that explains what the task does This task promotes the change package from development to test after the audit has successfully completed.
Action Select Promote.
Environments Select from environments configured in the deployment path. For example, Dev, Test, and Prod. <select Dev>
Site name filter Select a site type. ALL
Promotion Site Select a site. This field requires the site type to be selected in the preceding field. <select siteName>
Promotion Environment For each selected environment, select the promotion level for the selected site. This field requires the site to be selected in the preceding field. <select promotion environment>
Deployment date Optionally enter or select the date on which to run the installation. Specifying a deployment date will schedule the deployment instead of running the promotion job when the task is executed. The change package can have one scheduled date for each environment.

Deployment date must be a future date and be less than the installation date of the change package.

After you create the deployment task, the task appears in the list in red, and you must then associate the related change package with the deployment task. See Linking Deployment Units to Deployment Tasks.
