Interactive Server Installation

This section tells how to install the Release Automation server using the Release Automation standalone interactive installer.

Note: Release Automation servers may be installed on Windows using the Release Manager installer. For situations where you need to install on UNIX/Linux or install a second server, you should use the Release Automation standalone installer. If you are installing the server using the Release Manager installer, see the Serena Release Manager Getting Started Guide.

The interactive server installer is provided for Windows, Linux, AIX, Solaris SPARC, and HPUX Itanium. The installer uses a wizard that guides you through the installation process.

The properties set during the server installation are recorded in the installed.properties file located in the server_install/conf/server/ directory.

To install the server:

As a Windows local system user or on UNIX/Linux, a user with root privileges, run the installer and follow the step-by-step instructions. The installer executables are as follows:
