About Requirements and Development

To provide visibility into the business requests and development tasks, you can associate them with Release Manager application releases. To more closely track the development requirements to the completed work, you can associate them with the specific turnovers that address them. From the release train, you can view the development requirements for all application releases on the train and quickly see those that are completed.

Business requests and development tasks are used to track requirements and development. These are typically managed through a separate process, and can come from SBM process apps or external tools, such as ServiceNow or Atlassian JIRA.

Release Manager provides two sample SBM process apps that model the integration between your release process and work planned and completed for application releases:

The implementation is flexible so that you can use your own business request and development task systems with Release Manager.

You can use these simple process apps as they are to get started, but they are meant only for very simple scenarios and proof of concept. For a production implementation you should modify the process apps to support your internal processes, or customize the implementation to use your existing process apps or other software.

Items submitted into these process apps can be associated with an application release through the item itself or later through the application release, in the Requirements/Development tab. After you have associated the items with an application release, from turnovers for that application release, you can select a filtered list of the items to associate with specific turnovers.
