Importing the Solutions

This topic describes how to import the Serena Service Manager solution files into your environment. Importing a solution adds all of the snapshots and process apps for the solution to your SBM Server. The process apps and snapshots are available for promotion after the import.

Note the following about importing the solutions:

• If you plan to import multiple solutions, you can import them in any order.
• Each solution contains a subset of the process apps. You must import all the solutions if you want to use all the process apps.
• If you encounter any problems with importing solutions, refer to Troubleshooting Imports.

To import a solution:

1. Log in to SBM Application Repository using the following URL:

   http://serverName:port/mashupmgr

2. Select the Solutions tab.
3. Click the Import button to begin importing a solution.

Upon successful completion, the imported solutions appear in the Imported solutions list.

On the Process App Snapshots tab, the snapshots contained in the imported solution are now available for promotion. For steps on promoting the process app snapshots, see Promoting the Snapshots.
