Configuring ServiceNow for REST Calls

Before you can use ServiceNow with Release Manager, you must make sure your ServiceNow System Plugin JSON Web Service is active.

CAUTION:
Serena is not responsible for the demo website ServiceNow provides. Demo websites are dynamic, so if you do not see the options you need in a demo website, switch to another demo website or consult the ServiceNow documentation. References to the demo website are provided for your convenience in setting up a test or demo integration with Release Manager.

To activate the ServiceNow System Plugin:

  1. Access a ServiceNow system. For example, one of the numeric demo websites: http://demo008.service-now.com/
  2. Login to the ServiceNow system as a System Administrator. For example: username and password admin/admin
  3. Scroll down and select System Definition in the navigation panel.
  4. At the end of the System Definition list, select Plugins.
  5. Search by name for JSON Web Service.
  6. Select JSON Web Service.
  7. If the Status field shows Inactive, under Related Links, click Activate/Upgrade. Confirm when prompted.

The ServiceNow System Plugin is now active and ready to communicate with the Release Manager REST service calls.

Note: For more information on ServiceNow, see the ServiceNow documentation.
