Working With Views and Feeds → Using Kanban Boards → Creating Kanban Feeds
Use work item feeds, external feeds, or items from a backlog to aggregate content for Kanban boards. The cards that appear on your Kanban board depend on the type of feed you add or if you add items from a backlog. For details on adding items from a backlog, refer to Using Backlogs with Kanban Boards .
You can add items using the following types of feeds:
Work item feeds are based on single applications, but you can add multiple feeds to your Kanban board. This enables you to work with items across multiple application contexts.
Use feed criteria to filter items shown on the Kanban board as needed. (Data returned by feeds is dependent on each user's privileges to view and work with items.)
External data feeds enable you to display external items from a third-party using a REST data source. (The REST data source is configured by a designer using SBM Composer and deployed to SBM runtime by an administrator).
You can display a combination of items from both types of feeds. As long as you map status field values from internal and external feeds to similar columns on the Kanban board—for example, internally "closed" items and externally "complete" items mapped to the "Done" column—the data will be displayed seamlessly.
