Importing Data Into Your Database → Using the Import Data Wizard → Specifying a Destination for Data
The Specify Data Destination dialog box enables you to select an SBM table to import data into, and, if that table is a primary table, a project to import items into.
The following options on the Specify Data Destination dialog box apply to imports from all databases:
Load Data Into Multiple Projects, Based On Values in a Source Field – Select this check box to enable the Source Field to Evaluate and mapping options so that you can import data into multiple projects based on values in a source field.
Source Field to Evaluate – This list contains all Single Selection fields in the source SBM table. Select a field that contains values to map to SBM projects. Source items with the selected field values are then imported into projects mapped to those values. For example, you may select the Item Type source field, and map values such as "Defect" to one project, "Enhancement Request" to another project, and "Change Request" to a third project. Items in which the Item Type field does not have a value are placed into the default destination project.
Values – This left-pane list contains values in the field selected from the Source Field to Evaluate drop-down list.
SBM Projects – This list contains all projects associated with the destination primary table.
Values – This right-pane list contains source field values that are mapped to SBM projects. Source items that contain this field value are imported into the mapped project. Multiple source values can be mapped to a single project.
Map – This button enables you to map items in the Values list to items in the SBM Projects list. To map items, select a value, select a project, and then click Map.
Unmap – This button enables you to remove mapping assignments. To remove a mapping, select a mapped project, and then click Unmap.
After specifying data destination information, click Next to continue.
