Customizing Report Templates

Administrators with knowledge of Javascript and HTML can create or modify report templates as needed. Provided report templates are stored in the \template\reports directory of the installDir\SBM\Application Engine directory on the SBM Application Engine Web server.

CAUTION:
The provided templates are used to properly display report results. Do not modify the provided templates. You can create new templates or copy the existing templates and use them as a starting point for your custom templates.

For instructions on implementing modified report templates, refer to Customizing Global Templates and Files.

All reports use the default template, unless users change the template on the report form. Custom and provided templates are available to users from the Optional HTML Template drop-down list in the Additional Options section of report forms. This option can be changed for Listing reports in SBM Work Center and the SBM User Workspace. For all other report types, this option is only available in the SBM User Workspace.

Note that for graphical reports, the default template must be used to display Rich Graphical Reports, which offer dynamic charting and animation capabilities for reports run in the SBM User Workspace. Users can select the rptexec.htm template to display graphical report results in a format that does not require the Adobe Flash Player.

Tip: Report results for templates used primarily for exporting report results to Microsoft Excel do not include the Export to Excel icon. Users can use the browser's built-in feature to export to Excel. For systems that have Single Sign-On (SSO) enabled, users should follow instructions in the "Manually Exporting Data to Excel" section in the SBM User's Guide.
