Field Considerations for the Rich Editable Grid

You can include all field types in the Rich Editable Grid. The information in this topic provides guidance on working with each field type.

General Field Usage

  • Required Fields

When fields are set as required for the transition and do not appear in the report, a pop-up will appear with the fields for you to enter values.

  • Default Values

When you switch to edit mode and select a row, default values may be populated if they are set for the fields in your report.

  • Dependent Fields

If your report contains an independent field without its dependent fields, you are prompted to add the dependent fields to the report when you modify the independent field values. This enables you to see the values changed for dependent fields based on changes to independent fields.

  • Fields With Large Selection Lists

Fields that contain over 250 selection values are always set as searchable in the Editable Grid. This applies to User, Multi-User, Single Selection, Multi-Selection, Single Relational, and Multi-Relational fields.

System Fields

Values for some system fields, such as State, Active/Inactive (for primary items), Owner, and Secondary Owner, cannot be modified using the Editable Grid.

If you have appropriate permissions, you can modify the Project field if it appears in your report. Select the field and choose from the available projects in the drop-down list.

Binary/Trinary Fields
