Releasing Database Locks


You must be connected to SBM System Administrator via ODBC to release a database lock.

If you lock your production database to prevent changes to application elements, you may need to unlock the database to make urgent changes to the system, such as adding a user account.

Changes made to the production database may be overwritten during the next promotion to this database.

To release a database lock:

  1. From the File menu, select Administrative Locks. The Administrative Locks dialog box opens. All the administrative write locks against the current database are listed.
  2. Select the database lock, and then click Remove.
  3. Click Yes to confirm that you want to release the lock.
  4. Click OK.
