Database Locks

To protect the integrity of your production database, you can lock it so changes cannot be made to certain application elements. This prevents these changes from being overwritten during promotion to this database from another environment.

Database locks can only be initiated and released by an ODBC Administrator. Database locking activities are recorded in the TS_ADMINCHANGES table.

Note: During promotion, reports in the receiving database are overwritten with reports in the database from which you are promoting. Users who have modified reports in a production environment may lose those modifications after a promotion.
