Setting Up the BPEL Engine

Prerequisites:

To create the BPEL Engine target server, you must have the Create, Edit, and Delete Environments for this host privilege, which is set in SBM Application Administrator.

You must define a BPEL target server in order to execute process apps that use events or orchestrations. Note that the Default environment has a BPEL server already defined if you installed SBM Orchestration Engine on the same machine as Application Repository.

To set up the BPEL target server:

  1. On the Environments tab, select the default environment or another environment to which the orchestration workflows will be deployed.
  2. Click the Target Servers sub-tab.
  3. Click Create. The target server's properties become editable.
  4. In the Name field, enter BPEL server.
  5. In the Type drop-down list, select BPEL Server.
  6. Modify the example URL as necessary to specify the correct server and port number.
Restriction: The BPEL server host name cannot contain an underscore "_". Only Latin characters (a-z and A-Z), digits 0-9, and hyphens are permitted, as described in RFC 952. Deployments will fail if the host name contains an underscore.
  7. Click Save.
The BPEL server appears in the list of target servers.
