Before you install
SSM,
complete the tasks described in
Getting Started.
To install and configure
SSM:
- Install and configure
SBM
11.4 or higher as described in the
SBM Installation and Configuration
Guide.
- Close
SBM Configurator
on all servers if it is open.
- Run the
SSM
installer on the server or servers that host the following
SBM
components:
- SBM Application Engine
- SBM Application
Repository
- SBM Common Services
The "Welcome to the Install Wizard" message appears. Click
Next to continue.
- Accept the license agreement. Click
Next to continue.
- Choose the destination folder. This directory temporarily stores
files before they are copied into the appropriate folders inside the
SBM
installation directory for use by the
SBM Server.
Note: You cannot choose to install in the same directory as your
existing
SBM
installation.
Click
Next to continue.
- The installer detects which
SBM
components are currently installed on the server. A message appears if any of
the required
SBM
components are not detected on the server. Click
Install.
- Allow the install to complete, and then click
Configure to launch
SBM Configurator.
- In
SBM Configurator,
click
Apply. This updates various configuration files on the server
and prepares the system for use.
- Confirm that the following services are running on the
Manage Services tab:
- World Wide Web Publishing Service (this is the IIS service
that appears on the server that hosts
SBM Application Engine)
- SBM Tomcat
- Notification Server (on the server that hosts
SBM Mail Services,
select
Enable Notification Server on the Mail
Services tab if the service does not appear)
- Access
SBM Work Center
using the following URL:
http://serverName/workcenter
Important: Accessing
Work Center
immediately after
SBM Configurator
is an important part of the installation and configuration process. This
enables
SBM Application Engine
to import the
SRC framework
files.
When
Work Center
is accessed for the first time after the install is complete, the loading time
will be longer than normal, which may cause a timeout to occur. This is due to
the server loading data associated with the new solutions. The slow loading
time is a onetime occurrence.
Continue setting up
SSM
by importing the solution files in
Application
Repository
as described in
Importing the Solutions.
Important: If you are upgrading
from a previous version and you want to preserve modifications you have made to
existing process apps, see the
SSM On-Premise Upgrade
Guide
for steps to preserve your changes before you promote new versions of the
process apps. Promoting the new snapshots overlays any existing modifications
that you have made to your existing workflows.
