Adding and Configuring the Extension

The ChangeMan ZMF Views extension is not included in Release Control by default. If you want to use it, you must add the SBM Composer Form Extension for the these views and add the widgets to a form.

They are implemented through SBM Composer form extension widgets as follows:

The widget comes with several default views as shown in the following figure.

The figure shows a configuration with a form that has the following:

  1. The ZMF Change package list
  2. Tabs, each with ZMF Change package View configured to display the ChangeMan ZMF information indicated in the tab names

Adding the Composer Extension

To add the extension:

  1. Download the ChangeMan ZMF plugin bundle (RLC_ChangeManZMF_*.zip) from http://www.serena.com/support and extract the following file:

    ChangeMan ZMF Views Widget.cfx

  2. In SBM Composer, open the process app to which you want to add the views, such as RLC - Release Package.
  3. Select Extensions from the App Explorer, and then right-click Form Extensions.
  4. Select Add New Form Extension.
  5. Click Add to Library. This ensures the extension is available for other process apps.
  6. Navigate to the file you downloaded, and then click Open. Review the documentation provided on the editor to learn about the extension's capabilities.
  7. Click Add to add the extension to your process app.
Note: You will receive a warning if the extension you are adding was developed in a later version of SBM Composer than you are using. You can continue to add the extension, but certain features may not be available.

You can also add form extensions directly to your local library:

    My Documents\SBM Composer\Library\Extensions

This ensures extensions are available for every process app.

Configuring the Widgets

To configure the widgets:

  1. Drag the widgets onto a form, such as Master State Form, and configure them as described in the documentation included in the widget and in Configuring the Widget Views.
  2. Ensure that your plugin configuration has Single Sign-On (SSO) set to true. This is required for the widget to login and retrieve the information to display.

Refer to ChangeMan ZMF Plugin Configuration Details.

  3. Ensure that HTTP Server is properly installed and configured.

Refer to the Serena ChangeMan ZMF Connector Configuration Guide on the Documentation Center or on the Support site.
