Configuring Tasks to Execute Silk Central Plans

After a Silk Central Actions configuration has been added or updated as needed, you can configure tasks to execute Silk Central plans.

To configure a task to execute Silk Central plans:

  1. In a deployable release train or release package, select the Deployment Tasks tab.
  2. Click Edit Deployment Tasks.
  3. Click the + icon to add a task.
  4. Select a Silk Central Actions configuration.
  5. Select Execute Single Plan or Execute Multiple Plans.
  6. Fill out the resulting fields.

The fields are described in the following table.

Project Select a Silk Central project.
Execution Plan Click the link icon to select an execution plan. From here, you can:

To execute a single plan, the Execution Plan, Build, Execution Environments, and Run Option fields are required.

Build Select the identifier of an existing build.
Environment Select each environment in which you want to execute the task. These are the environments configured in the deployment path. For example, Dev, Test, and Prod.

Execution Environments

Select one or more Silk Central execution environments. Execution environments are required for the execution plan to execute in an environment.
Note: To get a list of available execution environments, the project, location and execution server must be specified.
CAUTION:
These are based on keywords. If you specify keywords in Silk Central and select different ones for Execution Environment, the Execution Environment selections override the keywords specified in Silk Central.

If you want to use the keywords specified in Silk Central, do not select them here.

Run Option Select the tests that you want to execute.
Schedule Options

Select the schedule option and fill out the additional fields that open based on your selection. Options include the following:

  • None
  • Specific Time
  • Opportunity Window
  • Time Window
  • Delay
  • Hold Until Released
