Field Descriptions

The field descriptions are included in the UI. While creating or editing a base or configuration, point to a field name to view its description.

A few fields that may need additional explanation are described in the following table.

Field Description Example / Default Values
ALM Connector URL The location of the Apache Tomcat server instance where the ALM Connector war files (almsernet, almzmf, almzmfws, and almzmfalf) are installed. The default Tomcat port is 8080. http://<servername>:8080

Use Single Sign-On (SSO)

If this is selected, the ChangeMan ZMF provider will use the user name and password specified in the ALM Connector almsernet service resource properties as a proxy user. The proxy user logs in on behalf of the SBM user name specified in the SSO token. To access ChangeMan ZMF, the SBM user name with which you log into Release Control must have a matching TSO login ID that exists on the mainframe.
Note: If SSO is used, the user ID used to log into SBM is the user ID that shows in the history as having carried out the ChangeMan ZMF actions.

User Name

If single sign-on is not enabled for this server, use this user name to log in to this system.
Note: If SSO is not used, this user ID is the one that shows in the history as having carried out the ChangeMan ZMF actions, even if the deployment tasks were deployed by different SBM users.

Password

If single sign-on is not enabled for this server, use this password to log in to this system.
Server Time Zone Name This field is used to set the time zone used in the display of date/time fields in Release Control. If the time zone of the Release Control server is different than that of the ChangeMan ZMF host, enter the time zone of the ChangeMan ZMF host in this field. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tz_database_time_zones or similar sites for information on Java time zone entries.

If this field is blank, the time zone of the Release Control server is used to calculate the time.

Job Polling Interval Tells the job polling system at what intervals to check the deployment status, in seconds. The default polling interval for newly-added configurations is 60 seconds and allowed values are between 10 and 3600 seconds. If a polling value is not specified, polling is disabled. 600
Job Polling Timeout Tells the job polling system the amount of time at which it should stop checking for deployment execution status. The minimum is 600 seconds.A blank value is treated as no timeout. 3600
