Project Merge/Compare Dialog Box

Use this dialog box to merge or compare sets of item revisions in projects, baselines, or folders/directories. You can also compare streams, but you cannot merge them.

Use the Ancestor tab to select the ancestor, or the folder to which other folders are compared.

Use the Derivatives tab to select one or more folders to compare to the ancestor.

Use the Target tab to select or create the resulting merged folder. This is not displayed for the Project Compare dialog box.

Ancestor Tab

Field	Description	Rules and Guidelines
Object type	Select Baseline, File Based, Project or Stream.
Specification	The specification of the project, stream or baseline. Type the baseline or project/stream specification, or click the Browse button to find it.	Applies if the Object Type is Baseline or Project. Default value is the currently selected project, stream, or baseline. Specifications have the following format: productID:baselineID productID:projectID productID:streamID
Folder	Type a folder/directory path, or click the Browse button and select one. For a baseline, project, or stream, you can type or drag one of its subfolders to use as the root of the comparison.	If you have selected a project/stream folder this field is populated with that folder path.
