Use the Work Area Defaults dialog box when you want to associate a folder in your work area with a project or stream in Dimensions. This enables you to perform item file operations from Windows Explorer, such as update or deliver without using the desktop client or web client.
Use the Folder Settings dialog box to modify the settings for a folder that has been associated as the root folder for a Dimensions project.

Accept the default or click Browse. In the Select Project/Stream dialog box select one of the options. If you select Another project/stream do one of the following:

A comment to be used if an item file is being checked in or uploaded to the repository |

Part specification |
The owning design part to be used for any new items. |
Default value <Use default> means that the owning design part will be determined by the upload rules for the item type (unless overridden by the Part specification field for a subfolder to which it belongs). |
Library cache area |
Enter the name of a library cache area to associate with this work area or use the browse button to select one. |

Local file exclusions |
Enter an expression to specify file types in the work area that you do not want to be delivered to the project/stream. |

Repository file exclusions |
Enter an expression to specify file types in the repository that you do not want to be updated in the work area. |

Permissions after update |
The permission to be given to a file after it has been copied to the work area. Choose between Make read only and Make writable. |

Permissions after deliver |
The permission to be given to a file in the work area after it has been delivered to the repository. Choose between Make read only and Keep unchanged. |

Enable synchronize logging |
Select Yes if you want a log file to be saved for the process. |

Log folder |
Type a pathname, or use the Browse button to select it. |
Default <Use default> folder is <DM_ROOT>\CM\logs. |
