Create baseline from design part

Type the top-level design part for the new baseline, or click the Browse button to find it.

The new baseline includes items from all design parts that are owned by, or used by, the design part you select.

If you have selected a design part before selecting this dialog box then this design part is displayed. Otherwise, if you have set a default design part for your project, that design part will be displayed.

Select the product associated with this baseline.

The default is the product for the current project.

Baseline ID

Type a unique name or label for the baseline.

This name must be unique within the product.

Maximum length is 128 characters.

Select a baseline type from the list.

  • Defaults to the first type in the list.

  • The baseline types are defined in the Administration Console. For more information, see the Process Configuration Guide.

  • If user-defined attributes exist for the selected type, use the Attributes tab to view and change them.

Select a baseline template.

Select a template if you are creating a release baseline or an archive baseline.

Leave this field blank for design baselines.

Part Levels

Select All, or select From Top Level To and enter the number of part levels to include.

For example, enter "1" to include only items related directly to the selected design part. Enter "2" to include items related to the next immediate subordinate design part.

Project/Stream Selector

Check Use global or Use current

The project/stream determines which item revisions are available for inclusion in the baseline.

If you check Use global, the top-level design part determines which item revisions are available for inclusion in the baseline.

Select the product whose items you want to include in the baseline.

The default is the product for the project/stream. The product does not have to match the product ID for the baseline you are creating.

Select the project or stream.

The default is the current project/stream.
