Setting a baseline

Use the Save Baseline dialog box to save up to eleven baselines for a single task, a group of tasks, or for the entire task plan.

It is a good idea to save a baseline of your project once the initial plan is completed. This will let you compare a current plan to the original for budget and time. It also lets you use Earned Value.
