Projects → Task Plan → Working in a Task Plan → Using the Icon and Right-Click Menus → Inserting a task in a task plan
YOU CAN ALSO RIGHT-CLICK TO DO THIS OPTION.
To create new tasks, just type the task name into the name column and hit Enter. This will create a 1 day task that starts on the project start date. The duration will show up as 1d?. The ? signifies that the duration is estimated. You may type in a new value to change the duration (and thus make it no longer estimated), or modify the duration with the mouse. For example, if you want to create a task that will last one hour, enter 1h.
Adding tasks is as simple as typing in am empty row in the Gantt spreadsheet. Normally, you give each task a name and a duration (in working days). You then assign dependencies between tasks by dragging one bar to another. This is more flexible than entering specific dates. Date constraints should be used sparingly
