SBM 10.1.2.1 is the version that immediately follows SBM 10.1.2. All of the features, changes, and fixes that were made in SBM 10.1.2 can be found in SBM 10.1.2.1.

SBM 10.1.2.1 is available in U.S. English only.

Supported Configurations

The sections below discuss changes in supported software configurations. Detailed information about supported platforms and software configuration is available in the Supported Platform Matrix.

Web Services

The latest application Web service calls can be found in the sbmappservices72 WSDL. The latest administrative Web service calls can be found in the sbmadminservices72 WSDL. All TeamTrack Web services and earlier SBM Web services (including ttwebservices, aewebservices70, and aewebservices71) are still compatible with this release. However, these WSDLs have been deprecated and will not contain any of the new calls or parameters found in SBM Web services version 7.2. For new Web service implementations, use SBM Web services version 7.2.

What's New

The following features have been added in this release.

SBM User Workspace Themes

You can now change the appearance of the SBM User Workspace by selecting an alternate theme in the base project settings section of Application Administrator. This enables you to change the SBM User Workspace color scheme from the default sand color to a blue color.

Note: For customers performing an upgrade, the default sand color is still used after the upgrade is finished. You must change the theme setting in Application Administrator for your users to see the new blue color scheme.

Field Updates on Multiple Custom Forms

In SBM Composer, you can now add, remove, or reposition fields on a large number of custom forms at once, with one click of a button. This simplifies the task of updating and maintaining forms, because you do not have to manually perform the action on each individual form. For example, suppose you add a field to the primary table and want to include the field on custom forms based on that table. You can choose to update all custom forms, all forms of a particular type (for example, all state forms), or manually select forms from a list. You control the location of the field on the forms by specifying its placement relative to an existing field.

Time Capture Improvements

  • You can now enable or disable the Time Capture feature for your entire system or at various levels. You can override the system setting at for all states and transitions in application workflows, projects, or for individual states and transitions or workflows and projects. This allows users to record time spent on items only when the information is required or is meaningful for your process.
  • You can now require users to enter time spent on a primary item when they execute a transition. You can enable this feature for all transitions in your system or limit to specific transitions in workflows or projects.
  • Dates for Time Capture entries are now shown in the date/time format selected in the user profile.

Custom Help Improvements

  • Empty entries for transitions and states are no longer shown in the Workflow help if end-user help text is not provided.
  • Help text for decisions is now included in a separate section than states on the Workflow help page. In addition, transitions exiting decisions are now listed under decision help.
  • The number of allowed characters in End-user help text fields for workflows, states, transitions, decisions, and fields has increased from 900 characters to 10,000.
  • Default help text is now provided for the system Update and Delete transitions.

Retrying Failed Asynchronous Orchestration Events

You can now use SBM Application Repository to manually retry failed asynchronous orchestration events. This is critical for certain external integrations with SBM where errors are handled in a limited way and cannot be automatically retried, and where event processing must be guaranteed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Miscellaneous Changes

  • SBM Application Administrator

You can now sort the Users and Groups views by the Memo column.

  • SBM Composer
    • Visual Compare and Merge

Strings that can be translated can now be ignored during the comparison. This eliminates the need to manually dismiss differences based solely on language when you compare a localized process app with a new version.

    • The Find Items dialog box has a new Return non-matching items option that lets you perform a negative search. In addition, a new Find Where Used dialog box opens when you perform the Where Used command so you can refine the search for items. After you dismiss this dialog box, the Where Used dialog box opens and lists only the items returned by the search.

Known Issues

For a complete list of known issues and potential workarounds, refer to the Knowledge Base.

SBM User Workspace Issues

  • There could be display problems with custom help on custom forms. For example, the help that is presented when a user hovers over a transition button could be misaligned, preventing them from clicking the button. To correct this problem, redeploy the process app containing the forms from SBM Composer.
  • The Ask an Expert section in the Social view might not display in SBM User Workspace after you deploy a process app for the first time. To work around this problem, deploy the process app again. The Ask an Expert section should now appear.
  • The text box for Text fields that have the "Memo" or "Journal" style could be too short to display the entire content of the field. This makes it necessary to use scroll bars to view all of the text. To work around this problem, in the form editor in SBM Composer, select the field control, and then in the Ribbon, do the following:
    1. Change the Height value from "60" to "auto."
    2. Make sure the alignment is set to "Align top."

SBM Composer Issues

  • After you upgrade to 10.1.2.1 and deploy a process app, embedded reports that contain spaces or high-ASCII characters in the Reference Name no longer work. For steps to work around this problem, refer to D17863.
