Default Roles

Serena Release Automation ships with several role types mapped to product areas. Every area or type has a set of available permissions. The application type, for instance, has the Manage Snapshots permission in addition to the common permissions (see the Common Permissions table. User-defined roles within a type can choose from among the permissions available for that type.

Every product area has one role typically calledAdmin orAdministrator that has all permissions available for that area. Deleting a default Admin role for one role type does not affect the Admin role for another type.

You can quickly grant a role type's permissions to all users using the Default Permissions tab.
