Deployment Package Tasks

A deployment package task is used to interrupt a deployment package process until some manual intervention is performed. A task-interrupted process is suspended until the assigned user or users respond. Typically, deployment package manual tasks are removed after the process has been tested or automated.

Like approvals, triggered deployment package tasks notify assigned users. Unlike approvals, deployment package tasks can be incorporated within a deployment package process.

The person notified for the task can indicate that it is complete by approving the step from the request's log in Approval Requests. See Approving Requests.

Create and use tasks as follows:

  1. Create deployment package tasks in deployment packages.

    See Creating Deployment Package Tasks.

  2. Insert a manual task step in a deployment package process.

    See Manual Deployment Package Task.
