Step 7: Adding the Component to the Application

After the application is saved, we identify the component it will manage, helloWorld. While we have only one component to deploy, an application can manage any number of components.

  1. In the application we just created, helloWorld_application, select the Components tab.
  2. Click the Component Actions button and then select Add Component.
  3. Select helloWorld and then click Add.

    The simple act of adding a component accomplishes a lot. The component processes defined for the component become available to the application, for example, and many application process steps will have default values set to values defined by the helloWorld component.
