Creating Groups

Groups are logical containers that serve as a mechanism to grant permissions to multiple users; members automatically share a group's permissions. Permissions are granted to groups (or all users), not individual users. Additionally, when a group is assigned a role, its members are automatically assigned the role.

To create a group:

  1. Navigate to Administration > Security.
  2. In the selection box, select Authorization (Groups).
  3. Select Groups in the left navigation list.
  4. Click the Create Group button.
  5. Provide a name for the group.
  6. Select an authorization realm.

    Groups are valid only for the selected authorization realm.
