Step 7: Adding the Component to the Application

After the application is saved, we identify the component it will manage, helloWorld. While we have only one component to deploy, an application can manage any number of components.

  1. In the application we just created, helloWorld_application, navigate to the Components tab and add a component: Management > Applications > helloWorld_application > Components > Add Component [button].
  2. Select helloWorld from the Select a Component drop-down menu, and then save your selection.

    The simple act of selecting a component accomplishes a lot. The component processes defined for the component become available to the application, for example, and many application process steps will have default values set to values defined by the helloWorld component.
