Installation and Configuration → Security Administration → Role Configuration → Server Roles and System Security
Server roles define the functions users can perform with the Deployment Automation server. Available permissions are described in the following table.
Server Permissions table
| Permission | Description |
|---|---|
| Create Applications | Grants users the ability to create applications. |
| Create Component Templates | Grants users the ability to create component templates. |
| Create Components | Grants users the ability to create components. |
| Create Pipelines | Grants users the ability to create pipelines. |
| Create Subresources | Grants users the ability to create subresources. |
| Create\Manage Resource Roles | Grants users the ability to create and delete resource roles. |
| Manage Licenses | Grants users the ability to add and remove licenses. |
| Manage Plugins | Grants users the ability to install new plug-ins. |
| Security | Grants users the ability to manage security configuration; users without this permission cannot access or change the security functions. |
To add users to system security roles:

Default Server Roles table
| Role | Description |
|---|---|
| Configuration Manager | Can create new applications, components, component templates, pipelines, resources, and resource roles. Has a single group pre-assigned, Configuration Group. |
| System Administrator | Has all configured permissions granted and a single group pre-assigned, Admin Group with user admin. |
All defined groups are available.
