Network Relay

A network relay is used for the following purposes:

to set up a multiple-server, high-availability configuration. See Multiple-server High-availability Configuration.
in conjunction with an agent relay to reverse the communication between the server and the agent relay. See the following section.

Reversing Agent Relay Communication

When used in conjunction with an agent relay, the network relay reverses the direction of communication through a firewall between the Deployment Automation server and agent relay. You should use a network relay for this only when you want the server to connect to the agent relay instead of the reverse, which is default.

To create a network relay to use with an agent relay:

Before you create a network relay for this purpose, the agent relay must be created. See Agent Relay Installation to create an agent relay.
Display the network pane Administration > System > Network > Create New Network Relay [button].
Enter the name of the network relay.
Identify the Host and Port.
Indicate the Network Relay will be Active by checking the box.
