Getting Started

After you have installed and configured Release Automation, log in to the web application and get started as follows:

  1. Create components and set your source configuration type and version import approach. The source configuration type points to where the artifacts for which you are defining the component are stored, and you can choose to either import the artifacts into Release Automation CodeStation automatically or manually.

    See Managing Components.

  2. Design component processes.

    See Component Processes.

  3. Create environments.

    See Managing Environments.

  4. Assign resources to environments.

    See Managing Resources.

  5. Create applications and add components to applications.

    See Managing Applications.

  6. Add environments to applications.

    See Mapping Environments to Applications.

  7. Map components to the application resources they will use.

See Mapping Resources to Application Components.

  8. Design application processes to control the deployment.

    See Application Processes.

  9. Run the application processes to deploy the components.

    See Deployment.
