Deploying Dimensions CM Baselines

A typical deployment of a baseline based on sample data is given here. This example gives only one use case. Details may vary for your implementation, but the concepts are the same.

Note: The process you configure must follow your Dimensions CM stage life cycle rules. For example, Dev to SIT to UAT to PROD.

To deploy baselines from Release Manager:

Add automation deployment tasks as follows:
1. In a turnover, select the Deployment Tasks tab, and then click Edit Deployment Tasks.
2. On the form that opens, click +, and then select Auto.
3. Enter a name and description.
4. Select the environment in which you want to run this deployment task.
5. In the Automation Application list, select a Release Automation application that contains Dimensions CM processes.
  The Automation Process menu lists all available processes for the selected application. For example:
  - Promote Baseline
  - Deploy Baseline
6. Select the Promote Baseline process.
  The Properties fields show the related Release Automation properties. For example:
  - Baseline Name
7. Enter or select the baseline name.
  - Use wildcard filters to limit the selection.
  - Select the baseline you want in the resulting Select Value form.
  - Note that entry data is not case sensitive.
8. Enter any other optional information.
9. Save the deployment task.
Add any other deployment tasks similarly to how you created the preceding deployment task. For example, typical processes you'd select are Promote Baseline and Deploy Baseline.
After you have created all your deployment tasks for your turnover, deliver the turnover, accept it, and start the deployment according to your turnover process.
