This section provides an overview of the entire installation,
configuration, and set up process for
Serena Release Manager.
Each step listed below is described in more detail later in this guide.
To install
Release Manager
in an on-premise
SBM system:
- Ensure that all prerequisite products and databases are installed and
configured as described in
Pre-Installation Checklist.
- Close
SBM Configurator
on all servers if it is open.
- Run the installer as described in
Running the Installer
and install
Release Manager
on the
SBM
server or servers that host the following components:
- SBM Application Engine
- SBM Application
Repository
- SBM Common Services
- Launch
SBM Configurator,
verify Relationship Service settings, configure
Release Manager
authentication settings, and configure
Release Automation
settings as described in
Configuring
Serena Release Manager.
Click
Apply to finish the configuration, and then
confirm that IIS, JBoss, and the Notification Server are running on the
Manage Services tab if they are not automatically
started.
- Access
Serena Work Center
using the following URL:
http://serverName/workcenter
When
Serena Work Center
is accessed for the first time after the installation is complete, the loading
time will be longer than normal, which may cause a timeout to occur. This is
due to the server loading data associated with the new solutions. The slow
loading time is a onetime occurrence. See
Accessing
Serena Work Center
for more information.
- Import the solution files as described in
Importing
Serena Release Manager.
- Promote the solution snapshots as described in
Promoting
Serena Release Manager.
- Update the endpoints for specific process apps using
SBM Application
Repository
and redeploy the apps as described in
Updating Endpoints.
- Start the
SBM
Relationship Service Database as described in
Starting the
SBM
Relationship Service.
