Setting Report Options

Report options allow you to enable dynamic sorting on report results pages, allow users to run simultaneous reports and searches, and specify graphical report font settings.

To set report options:

  1. From the Options menu, select Settings or click the Settings icon on the toolbar.
  2. Select the Display tab.
  3. Select the Allow Dynamic Column Sorting check box to allow users to sort columns that appear in Listing reports. Columns can only be sorted in Listing reports that are not part of Multi-View reports. Clearing this check box prevents users from sorting columns that appear in Listing reports and may improve system performance.
  4. If the Allow Dynamic Column Sorting check box is selected, the Enable Dynamic Column Sorting for New Reports is enabled and enables you to specify the default behavior for dynamic column sorting in new Listing reports. Select this check box to specify that the Allow Dynamic Column Sorting check box is selected by default when users create Listing reports. Clear this check box to specify that the Allow Dynamic Column Sorting check box is cleared by default when users create new Listing reports.
  5. Select the Allow Users to Run Simultaneous Reports and Searches check box to allow individual users to run multiple reports or searches at once. Clear this check box to prevent users from executing multiple reports or searches at one time. Clearing the Allow Users to Run Simultaneous Reports and Searches check box may improve system performance.
  6. Click OK.

Specifying Graphical Report Fonts

Arial is the default font used in graphical reports. You can change the font used by graphical reports as needed depending on the language needs of your users. For example, you may want to specify Arial Unicode or another Unicode font. For example, ARIALUNI.tt is the recommended font for systems that contain Chinese, Japanese, or Korean (CJK) characters.
Note: Graphical report fonts do not apply to Rich Graphical Reports and these options are disabled when the Rich Graphical Reports check box is selected.

To specify a graphical report font:

  1. Verify that the font file you want to use is available on the SBM Application Engine Web Server machine.
  2. From the Options menu in the SBM System Administrator, select Settings or click the Settings icon on the toolbar.
  3. Select the Display tab.
  4. In the Graphical Report Font File box, specify a font file that supports these characters. If this setting is empty, Arial is used in graphical reports.
  5. In the Graphical Report Font Size box, specify a font size used in graphical reports. You may need to set a size different than the default of 8 points if the font you specified in the Graphical Report Font File box does not support this size or if it is not legible in reports. Note that for reports that are resized to fit in Multi-View reports, the font size is scaled to match the report size.
  6. Click OK.
