On the
Runtime Statistics tab, you can view reports that
provide run-time statistics for applications, orchestrations, and
SBM
reports for a given date range. Within that date range, you can display results
in various time increments:
- Use the
Hourly view to display the peak usage period for a given day. Up
to 7 days of data can be displayed using the hourly option.
- Use the
Daily,
Weekly, and
Monthly views to display peak usage over a greater time period.
Up to 1 month of data can be displayed for the daily option; up to 1 year can
be displayed for the weekly option.
Note: Viewing statistics for applications, orchestrations, and reports
consumes database and
SBM
system resources. To avoid unnecessary system loading during work-hours, you
can do the following:
- View statistics primarily off-hours. However, viewing statistics
for shorter intervals (Show By:
hourly or
daily) has a smaller impact on system resources and can
usually be performed any time.
- Clear the
Auto Reload check box to prevent the graph
from loading when any settings are changed, and use the
Reload button to manually load the graph when
necessary. This setting is persistent across all of the statistics and is saved
in the browser cache.
Key Benefits
- View and track application usage to help you determine which
applications are most popular.
- View statistics related to orchestration usage and the duration of
executed orchestrations.
- View statistics on report usage and track the duration of reports
that users are running.
- View a summary of report usage to help you determine which reports
are popular or which are seldom used.
Applications
In the
Applications tab, select a
Report Type, select a specific application,
filter by user, and then apply a date range and time increment.
The following
Report Types are available for applications:
- Total access count – Displays the number of
times items are viewed, updated, or submitted in the specified time period.
- Total usage duration – Displays the total
time a user (or users) spent working on items in an application in the
specified time period.
- Total active users count – Displays the
total number of distinct active users in the specified time period.
-
Most active applications by access count –
Select this report and enter a number to view the most popular applications in
terms of access count in the specified time period.
-
Most active applications by usage duration –
Select this report and enter a number to view the most popular applications in
terms of total usage duration in the specified time period.
-
Most active users by access count – Select
this report and enter a number to view the most active users for an application
in terms of access count in the specified time period.
- Most active users by usage duration –
Select this report and enter a number to display the most active users in an
application in terms of total usage duration in the specified time period.
Note the following additional information:
- Hover your mouse over any part of the graph line to view more
detailed information including the date, time, and count or duration.
- To compare usage across your different applications, run the report
once for each separate application that you have, and then compare the results
that are displayed.
- By default, the system aggregates application usage data every
hour. Each report displays up-to-date aggregated usage for the current hour,
day, week, and month. To change the default aggregation period or disable it
completely, refer to the steps in solution
S142431.
- By default, the system automatically purges application statistics
that are older than a year. To change this purge interval, or to manually purge
all statistics or statistics during a specified date range, click
Clear History.
Orchestrations
In the
Orchestrations tab, select a
Report Type, select a specific orchestration (or
All orchestrations), filter by product (which is
typically the same as an application name) or user, and then apply a date range
and time increment.
The following
Report Types are available for orchestrations:
- Total execution count – Displays the total
number of orchestrations that were executed in the specified time period.
- Total execution duration – Displays the
total time it took (in seconds) for orchestration execution to complete in the
specified time period.
- Total active users count – Displays the
total number of distinct users that ran orchestrations in the specified time
period.
-
Top products for orchestrations by execution
count – Select this report and enter a number to view the products
with the highest orchestration execution count in the specified time period.
-
Top products for orchestrations by execution
duration – Select this report and enter a number to view the
products with the highest orchestration execution duration in the specified
time period.
-
Most active orchestrations by execution count
– Select this report and enter a number to view the most popular orchestrations
in terms of access count in the specified time period.
-
Most active orchestrations by usage duration –
Select this report and enter a number to view the most popular orchestrations
in terms of total usage duration in the specified time period.
-
Most active users by execution count – Select
this report and enter a number to view the most active users in terms of
orchestration execution count in the specified time period.
- Most active users by execution duration –
Select this report and enter a number to view the most active users in terms of
total orchestration execution duration in the specified time period.
Note the following additional information:
- Hover your mouse over any part of the graph line to view more
detailed information including the date, time, and count or duration.
- To compare orchestration usage, run the report once for each
separate orchestration that you have, and then compare the results that are
displayed.
- For details on disabling logging for orchestration statistics or
for help with migrating existing Event Manager data into the statistics table,
refer to solution
S141958.
- By default, the system automatically purges orchestration
statistics that are older than a year. To change this purge interval, or to
manually purge all statistics or statistics during a specified date range,
click
Clear History.

Reports Table
In the
Reports Table tab, you can view a summary
reports that were or were not executed within a specified time period. You can
filter the reports in the table by application, report, or by user (to view the
report count for specific user).
Review report statistics to determine:
- How often or seldom reports are executed. Consider deleting reports
that are not used often or have not been executed in a while.
- Which reports are executed most often and how long they take to
finish.
- Which reports are run so often that they should be added as widgets
on a dashboard view in
Work Center.
Note the following:
- In the
Name column, click on a report name to preview
the report. Note that by previewing the report, you will alter the current
statistics related to the report's execution.
- For executed reports, you can sort by the average run time and
execution count. This is quick way to identify reports that take the longest
amount of time to execute and which reports are executed most often.
- Use the search field to find reports in the table by name.
