Working with E-mail → Mailboxes and E-mail Submission → Preparing Your System for E-mail Submission → Enabling Anonymous E-mail Submit
Anonymous E-mail Submit enables users who do not have SBM user accounts to submit new items via e-mail. After an item is successfully submitted, you can have SBM send a confirmation response e-mail to the sender. You can optionally allow certain types of attachments to be added when the item is submitted.
Note the following information:
When you enable Anonymous Submit for a project, a new user account is created with the user name "Anonymous Submit" and a login ID of "anonymous_submit." This user account does not appear on the Users page and you cannot modify the account.
Anonymous e-mail submissions use the "Anonymous Submit" user when change history, state change history and system field values are populated. When users view change history, write notifications or report on anonymous submissions, they should look for this user name; however, users with the External Communication privilege can update items that are submitted by non-SBM users and enter a name for the sender of the e-mail.
