Setting Default Values for Auxiliary Table Fields

Prerequisites:

Fields must have enabled selections, such as users or Relational field values, before you can set a default value. For example, for User fields, you must have enabled user selections for the field. For Folder fields, you must added public or knowledge base folders to your system. For Single Relational and Multi-Relational fields, records must be added to the relational field table.

Default values for Folder, Multi-Group, Multi-Relational, Multi-User, Single Relational, and User fields are set in the SBM System Administrator because these values are application configuration elements that are not available in SBM Composer.

To set default values for auxiliary table fields:

  1. From the Tables tab, select the auxiliary table that contains the field for which you will set a default value, and then click Edit. The Edit Field Table dialog box opens.
  2. Select the Fields tab.
  3. Select the field for which you will set a default value, and then click Edit. The Edit Field Properties dialog box opens.
  4. Select the Options tab and then perform one of the following tasks:
    • For User, Single Relational, and Folder fields, select a single value from the Default Value drop-down list.
    • For Multi-Relational, Multi-User, and Multi-Group fields, select one or more values from the Default Value box.
  5. Click OK.
