Table Configuration → Configuring Tables for Applications → Viewing and Configuring Fields → Viewing Field Display Options → Viewing Field Dependency Settings → The Set Dependencies Dialog Box
The Set Dependencies dialog box enables you to view dependent field selections and default values for User, Single Selection, and Single Relational fields. You can override dependent field selections for independent fields in auxiliary tables.
|Independent Item||Indicates the field for which you are viewing and overriding dependent field selections.|
|Selection||Indicates the selection selected on the Dependencies dialog box. For relational fields, "any" is the selection value.|
|Override||If this check box is enabled, you can select it to enable controls that allow you to override dependent field selections and default values.|
|Fields Dependent on Independent Field Name||Lists the Single Selection and User fields dependent on the independent field you are viewing.|
|Selections in Dependent Field Name||Lists the selections in the Single Selection or User field selected in the left pane.|
|Independent Field Name in Dependent Field Table||Lists the independent field in the dependent field table.|
|Default Value||Indicates the default value for the dependent field. For User and Single Selection fields, actual field values are available, along with <none>, <first valid entry> and <leave entry unchanged>. For Relational fields, <none>, <first valid entry>, and <leave entry unchanged> are available.|
|<none>||When selected, the value of the dependent field is always set to (None).|
|<first valid entry>||When selected, the value of the dependent field is always set to the first entry in the dependent field after "(None)".|
|<leave entry unchanged>||When selected, an attempt is made to let any previously selected value remain selected. The only way for this to occur in a Relational field dependency configuration is if the field used to define the relationship between the two tables is a Multi-Relational field.|
