Working with Items → Working with Item Actions → Managing File Associations
File associations are similar to version control actions, which display the history of source code control operations associated with primary items. File associations differ, however, because you can add, modify, and delete them from within the SBM User Workspace.
The following information applies to file associations managed within the SBM User Workspace:
Source control information is not validated for file associations managed within the SBM User Workspace.
File associations appear in the Version Control Actions section, along with records added by version control integrations such as SourceBridge.
The process app user name is included in file associations, not the user name for the version control tool.
You can view version control actions if you have the Version Control History option selected in your user profile, but you must be granted privileges to add, modify, and delete file associations from within the SBM User Workspace.
File associations are only available for primary items.
Version control actions added by Perforce cannot be modified.
To add a file association to a primary item:

File Name | Provide the full path and file name for the file association in the top box, or click Browse to navigate to a file. If you navigate to a file, the full path and file name are automatically provided in both File Name boxes. The name provided in the top box is saved with the file association. |
Check-out Revision / Check-in Revision | Type revision numbers for the file association to record
specific version control actions:

Comment | Provide a comment to include with the file association. |
On success, automatically close this window | Select this check box to automatically close the Add/Modify File Association dialog box after adding the file association. |
OK | Click to add the file association. |
You can modify a file association if the edit icon appears next to it. Click the icon to open the Add/Modify File Association dialog box for a specific file association, and then edit the file association as needed.
You can delete a file association if the delete icon appears next to it. Click the icon to delete the file association.
