Your administrator determines which Text fields are used for keyword searching. Typically, fields such as Title, Description, and Item ID are included in keyword searches, but other fields may be used in your system. In addition, different fields may be set for keyword searching for each workflow, application, and auxiliary table.
The following guidelines apply to keyword searches:
Keywords are single words, separated by a space. Use double quotes (") to search for phrases.
Matches are based on words or phrases contained in an item.
All searches are case-insensitive.
Wildcard characters are automatically applied to the beginning and end of all keywords and phrases. You can override automatic wildcards by including at least one wildcard in your search criteria.
Asterisks (*), percent signs (%), and underscores (_) serve as wildcard characters. A wildcard character matches zero or more consecutive characters.
With a SQL database, to search for a keyword in brackets ([]), you need to add an opening and closing bracket after the first bracket. For example, to search for [test], enter [[]test].
Leading and trailing spaces are removed when you perform a search.
