Importing Data From A Generic ODBC Database

You can import data from any DBMS that supports ODBC, such as Microsoft Access or Microsoft SQL Server. TeamTrack databases from versions earlier than 5.8 are considered generic databases. The following scenarios describe situations when you should select the generic ODBC database option:

If your source database does not already contain an integer to text field that establishes uniqueness for records, create a field for this use before using the wizard to import data. The Import Data Wizard can match source records to imported records if you specify a unique identifier on the Specify Data to Import dialog box. Though not required, specifying a unique identifier will improve import logging and match imported items to existing records. For details, Specifying a Generic Data Source Import Table.
